Played here on a Sunday afternoon and the course was packed but moving along at a good pace. After a 30 minute thunderstorm shower, the course cleared up and I experienced how good the drainage is on the course. Overall, like what everyone says, the greens are quick and almost unstoppable on downhill putts. I can see why they made this a US Open qualifier course. I will be back again.

A great layout in excellent condition. Beats local "high end" courses in both quality and price, especially if you play a lot and use their frequent golfer card. As good or better than Whiskey Creek, Musket Ridge, or Raspberry Falls for a much more reasonable price. It's possible to score well on the course, if you're not devastated by the opening 3 holes.

Played here 50 plus times. Reasonable rates and a great and challenging layout. In great shape when I played in late May after US Open Qualifier. Greens were quick and the rough was tougher than normal. It is fairly wide open, however, you need to keep it in the fairway as the approach shots are very tough. Greens are undulating and some downhill chips and putts are impossible to stop. Hole 3 & 12 are extremely tough. Love the set of par 3's. Par 5's are not very long.

Played here Monday and this is a very tough rolling course with some wonderful views. I really enjoyed the pristine fairways and greens. Service was exceptional as were the facilities. Only gripe were the large stones in the sand traps that seemed out of character for the course. But I should have stayed out of the traps, and then I wouldn't have to worry about the stones! This is a course worth playing again.

Great Course. I played it almost weekly during the season for at least three years - less so now as I joined a local club. Every hole is interesting and presents a different challenge. From the white tees it is not too tough. From the blues it’s a solid challenge but not out of reach and more importantly still fun for those with a 90 to 100 average. You must play smart if you are a 16 to 22 handicap. Back tees are a real challenge; you must be a low handicapper. Holes 3, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16,17 and 18 are particular nice.

The course was near perfect. Greens were smooth and have filled in from the spring aeration. Fairways were great and the rough was punishing. They were working on a couple of bunkers, but had marked them as ground under repair, which was nice. This might be my favorite course in the area.

Absolutely fantastic course and ties Stonewall for my favorite course in the area. I can't say enough great things about Worthington Manor. The course was in great shape, beautiful, and the layout is really tremendous. Be ready for a challenge, however.

Conditions great except greens. Someone needs to go out nightly and fix the massive ball marks on every green. It is frustrating having to repair at least five in your line just to try your own putt on every one. My only other comment, if you are a big driver play the tips. The next-to-back tees will not be as much fun as there are a lot of holes you would have to hit 3W off tee, especially on back 9. Not my favorite course, but you can do worse. Very crowded Sunday though.

Close to being the perfect golf course! Great conditions - fairways, tees, greens. The layout is interesting and challenging. Be sure to play the right set of tees - playing tees longer that your skills can support will make the course extremely difficult, while playing the right length makes scoring possible.

Staff is friendly Greens fees are reasonable, especially for frequent players who use the card that gets a free round after 4 paid rounds.

Positives, Great design, very good fairway conditions and excellent green condition. Frequent player program with 1 free weekend round after 4 paid rounds. Negatives, my round took almost 5 1/2 hours at 7:30 AM and there was no ranger getting on 1 very slow group that held up the entire course.

Excellent course. One of the better public courses in the MD/N-VA area. Still a good value. The design is excellent, and the course is in great shape. The first 3 holes make for a challenging start, but the course gets easier after that. Staff is friendly. Clubhouse is very nice. Pace of play is better than average. Tee times are not hard to get by calling the course. There's a "frequent player" card that gets you a free round (even on weekends!) after 10 or so paid rounds.

A great course. I highly recommend playing here. Staff is very friendly, tee boxes, fairways and greens all in great shape. Course is very challenging, but rewards good shots.

Amazing design with amazingly fast greens. Tee boxes were "OK." Fairways were exceptional, smooth bent grass. Rough was rough, which is excellent. Greens were amazingly fast, but fair. The only problem: the bunkers. No sand, just rocks. There's even a local rule allowing you to remove rocks from traps. All in all, this would be an eagle course, and possibly one of the best in the state of Maryland, if they added sand to their bunkers. As is, great course. But the price at $89 hurts!

The course design is nice and a bit cheaper than the other high end courses in the area with a good twilight rate. The conditions are always good. On the other hand, these are some of the hardest greens anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic. Staying below the pin is an understatement and depending on pin position don't expect to get anything close.

Played the course yesterday and overall the course was in good shape. The greens were a bit sandy from recent aeration but didn't effect putts that much. As always these are some of the hardest greens of any course in the area, so be prepared for some difficult putts. Only complaint were the tees a few were a bit chewed up but they seemed to be working on them. Customer service was average and they have one of the better ranges and practice areas.

While other courses are recovering from the drought this one is in great shape. The conditions are fantastic and the layout is wonderful. A bonus is the mountain scenery from all over the course. Play it.

This course is my top pick in Maryland. The green fee over the weekends and the twilight rates are really reasonable. Hole number 17 is a par 3 with a considerable elevation change and surrounded by hazard. Every hole is unique and challenging. The greens are fast and true. The fairways are in great condition.

Great course but don't expect pristine conditions. This course gets lots of play but conditions are great for the amount of golfers. Pace of play is remarkable. Great design worthy of hosting US Open qualifiers. A must play

This may be the best public course (at a reasonable rate) in MD. Every shot makes you think and you will pay for most mistakes. Greens and course were in excellent condition. Every hole had different challenges for each tee box. Loved the layout. No "forced" or trick shots required.

Played April 6th Conditions just OK. Greens still had punch marks with lots of sand. Could be fine in a week or two. Fairways and rough really need to grow in, lots of bare spots. Nice layout, Customer Service was very good.

Course was in good condition yesterday, except for some tees that were bare in areas. I like the layout but unless your a 10 or under handicap and even if you are a good golfer expect to shoot above your average. The course is a real challange on the greens. Some are even what most would deep unfair, because getting up and down if your on the wrong side of the green is near impossible. If you think your game is good, go to Worthington Manor to really find out.

This is one of the best courses in the county. Always in great shape, greens are by far the best in Maryland always fast and firm. Layout is open but challenging. If you are not a single digit handicapper please play from the white or red tees as this course will be too much for you. Great bang for your buck.

Wonderful course cant say enough about it. The cart attendants were very courteous and cooperative, put our bags on, and cleaned our clubs. The attendants Ryan, and Ed were both excellent hosts. The course was in marvelous shape, the greens fast, the fairways beautiful., and the bunkers in perfect shape. I give my appreciaiton to the groundscrew, the cart attendants, the kitchen, and the proshop. I recommend playing this course as much as possible. Thanks Worthington Manor

Last played - July 2005. Lots of things to like - nice track & views, layout is difficult but fair to the average golfer, surfaces in good condition, nice clubhouse and range. Middle of the week fees ($45 incl cart) are a bargain on a nice golf course. (down side - it was cart path only).

Course was OK.. However and idiot starter (RYAN? )allowed a foursome off of the back nine before playing the front nine first and did not check to see that my group was on nine green. Whan we complained, he did nothing about it, In fact he was snootie about the whole thing,. This upset two members of my group to such an extent, that they left the course in anger. This not the way to run a good golf course.

Great course for conditions and beautiful design but for the average weekend hacker it's just pure evil. You hit good drives, get near the green then the green just smiles at you and laughs as every chip goes by the hole or sometimes off the green. These greens are extremly hard plain and simple. Bogey players can expect many doubles and par players can expect lots of bogeys. It seems the green slope is very deceptive in the way the land is laid around the greens. 10 - 20 handicappers be afraid!

Played on Saturday morning. Went out at 7:40 with a buddy and finished in a little under 4 hours, so pace was pretty good. Boy this course ate my lunch!! I'm a high handicapper, so I don't expect to score well and this course made sure I didn't. I'm not complaining - the course is very fair and kicked my butt without gimmicks, blind shots, weird doglegs, etc. It just has enough carries, tough enough rough and tricky, undulating greens that make sure that you EARN a good score. Played Musket Ridge, Whiskey Creek and Little Bennett the same week, and both my buddy and I thought this was the hardest course of the lot; certainly had the toughest greens. Was a bit chilling to realize that the greens were still in early-season form - I'd hate to see what they'd do to me when they are at their fastest!! They putted very true, however, so again I can't complain. Thought the course offered a very good value proposition for the quality of golf, and will return once I recover from this beating :-)

Nice layout with some tight fairways and gentle elevation changes. Greens are lightning fast, even when it's not set up for a tournament. Very scenic.

My new favorite course. Challenging enough for the big hitters like me. The greens will tear you up if you let them. This course makes you earn every par. Great conditions, excellent shape, excellent golfing experience all the way around. I don't know of a more challenging opening 4 holes anywhere else around either. A must play if you are ever near Frederick.

Great course and layout but for the 15 to 20 hanidcapper like me, very difficult. Fast hard greens make you play each shot off the green. Makes for some very mean chips and when pin is below the hole makes tough putting.

If you want a challange you won't find a better one in Montgomery County.

I've played the course at least 20 times and love it. It is one of the best courses in the area. The best deal after 12 pm. It is a very demanding and challenging course. Fairly wide open course with ample room on most holes due to the lack of trees. Greens are tough, quick and undulating. The course is usually in great shape.

Great course. It has to be the best bang for your buck in the DC metro area. Tough greens where pin placement is key. If you land on the green in the wrong spot you'll have no problem 3 putting.

One of the best course I've ever played. Definitely worth the drive up I-270 from DC. A wonderful test of every club in your bag. Some holes offer an opportunity to let it rip; others demand more controlled tee shots followed by iron shots to greens positioned behind water hazards, mounds, and gulleys. A very rolling course, beautifully kept. The frequent player card offers a wonderful value as well.

Nice course in good shape, greens are hard and fast. There having a 2004 U.S. Open Qualifier there. Some pin placement is unfair for the average golfer. Gota pay good attention to pin placement. But nice course though.
