The course is in great shape. The greens are rolling true and smooth. The natural grass areas are still in mowed down status but not for long. The gnats are just starting to emerge so taking some bug spray is advised. Construction of the new club house has not started yet, but the ground has been leveled. Walking this course is not advised unless you want a real workout.

A course with a lot of different owners...changes from year to year. This is a gem of a course! The scenery is spectacular, especially on the back nine where several holes are played on the mountain. This is a course that offers a challenge to both long ball hitters and those not so inclined to hit so far. Strategy comes into play on most holes and you must chose your clubs very carefully. Long drives can be rewarded by losing one's ball in thick grass...it helps to know the course! There is little room for forgiveness for the errant shot...long grass awaits to feed on stray balls off the fairway. This is a true test of golf...but the conditions are perfect! For me, it's the most enjoyable golf in Franklin County due to the scenery and strategy. It's been quoted numerous times that if this course were closer to the cities, they could ask a lot more for a round...so with a coupon, Whitetail can be a real bargain for its quality! Highly recommended!
