I love this course. From the parking lot to the first tee box they treat you like a king, polite and make sure things run smooth. Awesome layout, far but tough course. Driving range, practice green in tip top shape. Pace is great, conditions were also great considering the lack of rain. Don't have to be a long hitter to have a fun round. Greens are large with lots of slope. Played this course during a tourney with Glory Days and would like to thanks everyone involved in making it work.

Played here three times this early spring for a reduced rate of 30 dollars because of the early conditions and the renovation to the club house. The conditions were wonderful, bunkers were raked, greens were lightning fast and firm, and the staff was friendly. The round ended with the marshall escorting my bag to my car and a hot towel. This course defines the eagle rating.

Even the soggy remains of the recent winter thaw only slightly diminished the luster of one of the best designs in northern VA this past weekend. The firm compacted bunkers were our only complaint but most courses don't do bunker maintenance over the winter. The greens even dominant rolled very smooth and quick for the end of February. The course has some great short par 4s on the back nine. A true mixture of great holes that take the sting out of the premium price.

Played Sunday morning and course was in top notch shape. The greens were fast, firm and lightning quick.

Able to walk on this afternoon without any problem. Pretty empty and finished in 4 hours. Played the tips and its quite a challenge from there. Forced carries, tree lined fairways, and bunkers all play a part in most tee shots. Fairways were good and greens were good, sand was excellent although it seems there was still some water from the rain in some but the bunkers I was in had great quality sand. Range has balls included but it is mats. A tad on the pricey side as the round was $89.

Westfields Golf course in Clifton is a nice layout with undulating fairways and greens. Played from the back tees this course is tree lined with a few open holes. Recently when I played the greens were very slow and kind of beat up. Very soft greens make for a lot of ball marks. Some greens show damage from earlier problems. Played twilight for $59 but to me seemed worth about $25. I will not play here again as there are many more choices in the price range that far exceed this course.

I still consider this course and Stonewall the standard against which all are measured in NOVA. Of course, they set the standard for high greens fees as well. Westfields may lack the dramatic lakefront property that Stonewall enjoys, but you don't have to worry about hitting the mega mansions along the fairways or use the backside of a Wegmans as targets either. Great variety of holes, good service. No ranger the day we played, so play lagged just slightly.

This was the first time to play Westfields this year and it did not disappoint me at all. The course was in great shape and playing very fair. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we were all happy in our group. They even let us tee off 20 minutes earlier than our scheduled tee time. In fact, we played our round in just a little over 3 hours. I would recommend playing here to anyone who asks.

I'm giving it a par, course is in a good shape with a couple greens with spots and collars around greens fried. Only draw back once again, another weekend played here with cart path only. I don't know if I've ever played this course off paths. Odd as it is because the course shows evidence of cart tracks all over the place. They just don't allow carts off paths on the weekend. And the driving range, I see divots on the tee box but I've never hit from the grass; always from the matts.

Westfields has almost always been in great shape, except for winters where hole 16 has a temporary green. The greens were running really quick and rough was high; very punishing if you don't hit the fairways. Score well on the front 9 and you should post a descent round!

I wish I would have found this course a long time ago. The course was in great shape. The staff is outstanding. This course could become my most favorite course in Northern VA.

Great course, probably one of the best public courses in Northern Virginia. Played after Christmas and it was in great shape. Staff was wonderful in getting me on despite not having a tee time. This is a great layout for those of you who like to walk.

From the moment we got there until the moment we left, total quality service! We enjoyed professional, clean cut, nice people from the staff, starter, clubhouse, grill, even the gentleman running from hole to hole with iced down cold washclothes due to the high temps. This is how to run a golf course!

After finally getting a chance to play Westfields, I'd rate it my 2nd favorite course in NOVA behind Stonewall. Amenities and service are akin to a private/resort course, which is where Westfields really differentiates itself from other upscale public courses. No houses on the course makes for beautiful, natural surroundings. 5 Tees makes the course reasonable for different golfers skill levels. Greens were solid with lots of undulations, but just a medium pace. Only downside would be lots of unrepaired divots.

Played over Thanksgiving weekend and the conditions were very good for this time of the year. The design is one of my favorites anywhere. Lots of challenge but forgiving enough for the average golfer. The staff was very nice and the little extras in the cart is a nice touch.

A terrific course. Mixture of long and short holes, with plenty of challenges. Even so, there are opportunities to score. Beautiful setting in the woods, and the course winds around the property quite nicely. The back nine has some wonderful variety -- a driveable Par 4, and real tester on 18, a devilish short Par 4 16, and some other good ones to boot. The customer service has always been excellent here.

Great course. The design is one of my favorites with some visually stunning Par 3s and challenging Par 4s, especially from the back tees. A couple of the Par 5's are reachable in two but the greens are sloppy and require a nice touch to make birdies. The clubhouse, staff and everyone at Westfields is first class. The range was showing some signs of the heat and a couple of the fairways had some minor heat issues. The greens it seems people don't know how to repair divots, I just don't understand this. Number 16 is my favorite hole, a short par 4, with a strategic shot off the tee. The approach shot is to a narrow green that looks deceptively narrower from the fairway.

A must play and well worth all the hype. One of the best in the area; just play it.

Westies is a teriffic golf course, period. Played the twilight on Sunday afternoon The only downside, what is the deal with PGA Sunday placements of pins on EVERY hole!?!? Sat & Sun are the busiest days of the week for any golf course, why would you make those two days the most difficult? The super having a bad day? Nobody wants to play a 5+ hour round on a Sun afternoon. Pins in the middle of greens would have been difficult enough with how deep the rough is on the course.

I only played 14 holes here, before the storms rolled in, but the course was in great shape. From tee box to fairway to green, my only complaints were: 1) sand traps were rather uneven -- some were deep and soft sand but others were basically hard holes in the ground; and 2) the rough is punishingly deep -- balls were actually difficult to find if you strayed just a few feet from the fairways. All in all, a very nice course that I'd go back to in a second.

A wonderful and challenging course. The staff is very friendly and take good care of the patrons. I agree with the other postings regarding a yardage book, there are some tricky holes. It is pricey, but once in a while, you should be treated to this fantastic course.

I played here in both May and mid-July 2005; each time, the course was in immaculate condition. The fairways are pretty generous, but trouble awaits if you stray, in the form of well-placed bunkers, tall grass, trees (albeit usually without too much undergrowth), and pretty tall, punishing rough. The greens roll very true, had medium-fast pace, and in some cases were marked by severe slopes. The front 9 is very long and perhaps more straightforward (with the knee-knocking #3 an exception), while the shorter back 9 will require more accuracy. No. 16, with a hazard guarding shots to the left off the tee and a pond guarding the left front of the green, is a standout hole. Given the visual appeal and variety of the layout, the pristine condition, and the playability (challenging but fair), this course is one of my favorites. Although it is pricey (try a weekday if you can), it is a must-play in my book, comparing favorably to Raspberry Falls and Old Hickory (which are a little tougher, but no more enjoyable than this one).

By far the best public course around, bar none! Great shape, great course, greater people.

Nice course and great layout. Getting ice cold towels from the staff as we pulled in after our round was the crowning moment and hit the spot on a hot July day. Although on the high $$$ side, it is well worth the visit as the course is challenging and very well maintained.

Nothing bad to say about this course. It's upscale daily fee with a nice layout and good conditioning. The back nine is my favorite with a couple of blind shots. Buy a yardage book if it's your first trip.

Beautiful course and well maintained. Huge clubhouse, practice facility with everything you could want. Would be a nice place for an outing. The rates are pretty pricey though so bring your gold card.
