This is by far the most pathetic excuse for a golf course I've ever seen. DO NOT play this course! I was ready to quit and fight the old lady for a refund once my group got done the first hole. Greens were covered in everything but grass. If you want to be able to putt, you're better of using a wedge on the green than a putter, and I'm being completely serious. We talked to the only guy working on the course and all he said was "terrible".."nobody come play"... $40 and you can play in my yard too.

Played 9 holes, greens were overgrown, fairways like rough, rough like out of bounds, sand traps hard, geese poo every where , and to top it off the old lady told us to hurry up at 4:45 on the last hole, I will never go back!

We played here for the first time over the week end. the grass in the tee boxes are higher than your ball, the fairways were so overgrown you couldn't find your ball, and the greens were very overtaking by crabgrass. BUT over all. their wasn't anybody on the course, we didn't have to wait for anyone. It would be a good place to practice if it was cheaper. This would be a great course if it was maintained by someone who knows how too.

Hadn't been here in almost 3 years and it made me sad. The course conditions were awful. Fairways like backyard grass, hard-packed or waterlogged bunkers, and greens that were shaggy and being punched in mid-June? Here's a course that has a decent layout, is hacker, family and beginner friendly, reasonably priced, and in the middle of Montgomery County. It is has been so neglected over the years that it is hopeless to expect it to recover. What a shame! Wrecking ball awaits.

Woeful is the only way I can describe this course. Everything from staff to course conditions are just plain bad. Only bright side is that it's open and friendly so those just starting the game or not very good should be able to manage.

I play the course once a year more for amusement now than anything. To call it a golf course anymore might be an understament. It seems management just puts enough into the course to keep it going and milk the hacker who is propably the only golfer that still frequents the course. Conditions were suspect at best and the Clubhouse and range is minimal to say the least. I wouldn't recommend this course to my worst enemy.

Owner should sell this to someone who will develop the course and isn't crazy. Beautiful area, no one on the course, green fees are low...why? Check out the owner.

It's a well known dog track that I usually get sucked into play once a year. As in the past it's still a dog track. Conditions are slightly better than years past but most fairways, greens, bunkers and tees are below conditions you'll see elsewhere. The location and decent price is the only thing that keeps it going. You'll be best served paying $20 bucks elsewhere for a real golf experience.

Ugh! No other way to sum this course up. The design is plain or boring and the conditions, staff and management seem to be from another world where customer service is looked down upon. I would rather play putt-putt than play this course again. Stay away if you can avoid it.

By far the worst conditioned and kept golf courses I have played in a very long time. The tee boxes grass was sometimes higher than my ball even after teeing it up. The fairways and greens appeared not to be watered or really maintained all summer. If this wasnt bad enough, the water jugs throughout the course were either empty or had warm water on a 90 plus degree day of heat. Never play this course! $44, what a waste!

The course is in total disrepair. Tee boxes are overgrown weeds with patches of dirt. Fairways are non-existent (the course has not been watered all summer), and the greens are littered with crab grass and divots filled with sand.

This could potentially be a nice course with rolling terrain and a reasonable layout. Unfortunately, management does not feel it is necessary to maintain the fairways and greens. Moments after we arrived at the "driving range," the path to the driving area had dangerously deep ruts, and sprinklers were set to turn on at 8:15am, just when people arrive to warm up before 18 holes. Be prepared for enormous amounts of goose dung, and greens that look worse than miniature golf surfaces. The toy rake in one of the sand traps was additional evidence of the lack of care.

The lady that owns the course is so mean. She treats her employees real bad. She won't let us bring any outside food or drinks inside the clubhouse unless it's from there. She bans a lot of people from coming to the golf course. I've seen her ban an employee from the golf course for not paying to play and for not paying for the golf cart he was driving.

Played this course again today and wanted to update my previous ratings. On the good side - the course was virtually empty and I moved at my own pace. Greens were OK - a little bumpy, but putted reasonably true. Fairways were green and closely mown, although they resemble backyard grass. On the downside - the tee boxes were the worst I've ever had to play. Without exception they were uneven, incredibly patchy and overgrown - you had your choice of rock hard dirt or overgrown uneven grass. The bunkers were hard packed. I still come back because the course works for me (I love uncrowded courses where I can work on my game), but it still grates at me - how hard can it be to keep your tee boxes level and mown? It's as if the owner just doesn't care at this point.

Played 18 holes today. The greens were slow but fairly true. Sand traps were decent. The down side is that the fairways don't appear to be watered so they're pretty hard and burned out in lots of places. The layout is pretty nice with the available elevations and the lack of a housing development on the property. This is a decent place to get in a fast round and to tune your game, but not to impress friends.

Played a quick nine today, my first visit to the course this year. As many know, this course has a checkered history and the owner has gone through several management companies. The course is now back under the management of the owner. The course conditions remain a mixed bag. The tee boxes were a bit shaggy. The fairways are baked out and hard, although there were a number of course workers out watering by hand. The rough is close cropped, so there isn't a huge penalty for offline shots. The greens are in significantly better condition than last year. Although the greens still are rather slow, they are nowhere near as bumpy and inconsistent green-to-green as last year. It made putting a lot more enjoyable. The course is short and hacker friendly, and pace was great once I got around a slow twosome. On balance, there's nothing special here but it remains a laid-back place to get your game in shape.

The owner of this place is a jerk. She treats people like crap. There is a reason why the course is always empty. It's rundown and down right disgusting. They should demolish this place as fast as possible.

Played course 2 weeks ago. The course is in good shape. Tee boxes and greens in the best shape I have seen in recent years. Grounds crew must be doing a good job. The staff is very friendly. You can't beat the price.

Wanted to update my earlier rating, as I ended up playing this course several times this year. The course has grown on me, although its limitations are painfully obvious. On the plus side, it's easy to get on the course as it is rarely crowded. Pace usually is very good, although the course is hacker-friendly and thus it's possible to get stuck behind a slow group that is clueless about etiquette and there is virtually never a ranger on the course. Unfortunately the course has some downsides. The weakest link remains the greens - very inconsistent, often shaggy and bumpy. The fairways are a mixed bag, depending on whether they've managed to get the mower around. The impression you get is that they are working on a shoestring budget - they are working hard but must face financial constraints that limit how good the course is ever going to be, particularly as it is slated to be closed for development at some point in the future. I'll actually miss it when it's gone, as it's been a good place for me to learn to play on the course, but it's hard to recommend to anyone other than fellow pace junkies who are willing to overlook suspect conditioning, frustratingly inconsistent greens, and a merely OK layout.

The last several reviewers were pretty much on the money. The course has been improving. The putting surface remains the weakest aspect, but it too has improved with the Spring growing season now behind us. I'd say the fairways, the areas around the greens, and the sand in the bunkers are actually in better shape than the average public course in the area. The tee boxes are coming around now as well with Spring just behind us. If you play the local munies, give it a try--value is comparable.

Played out here for the first time and I the only thing I kept saying to myself was I wish I had money to buy the golf course and make it better. I think the layout is great for a confidence booster. The conditions of the course were not that great, tees need to be cut and greens were bumpy and not true at all. I had a putt that jumped in the air on the greens.
For the price you might want to check it out, Keep an open mind and you may go low at this course!

Compared to years past the course is in great shape, but compared to most other courses it's still below Par. Its nice to see the management company is doing at least a decent job. Overall condition just ok, greens very furry and need some work. Course is straight forward and a good confidence builder. A good place for middle week after work round.

Had seen several savage reviews of this course, but decided to give it a shot on a weekday afternoon. Now I understand the basis for the complaints, although I didn't HATE the course like some others. Here are the cons: (i) course conditions are marginal at best; the greens were bad - very slow, bouncy, and inconsistent; (ii) value is dubious, as you can play far better-conditioned public courses in Montgomery Co. for only a few dollars more; (iii) layout is OK but nothing special. There are some pros: (i) course was uncrowded and (ii) course personnel were friendly and unpretentious. This course may be good for working on your game under somewhat less-pressured conditions, although the greens are so dubious that I'm not sure you would be working your putting by playing here. Again, I didn't loathe the course and might come back under the right circumstances (wanting to get in a quick round or to work on my iron play); if you value course conditioning and true putting surfaces, then definitely this is not the track for you. On a final note - if you don't like geese, then stay away; the front nine had LOTS of geese, who keep the course fertilized, I guess.

I don't hate TG nearly as much as the others. I played on a Saturday afternoon and it was nearly deserted--not many placaes you can say that about so close to the Beltway. Layout very playable, mostly flat, though--yes--conditions are lousy. Clearly they are not investing much in groundskeeping. Bunkers need sand, greens are pitted and fungal in places. Given the price and the good pace of play, it's not a bad value for a recreational (not a competitive) round.

What a goat track. This course is the worst shape of any course I have ever played. You would think the so called "new management" would make some improvements but obviously they are not getting paid to make it playable.

Greens are extremly bumpy and pot marked, bare spots in the fairways, tees are only spotty with grass. Only good thing to say is that it is friendly and wide open and the price is cheap for close to the beltway. But other than that there isn't much anything good to say.

Those from the area should know the long sad history of this course. They just had a new management company come in last year but they seem to be doing a very poor job as well at maintaining the course.

Bare tees, fairways had many spots with no grass, the greens were in poor shape, very bouncy and divots everywhere, bunkers had little to no sad and the pace was terrible.

The price is very reasonable eepecially on the weekend but pay the extra $20 and go somewhere else.
