I played here on May 31st and the course was in pristine condition. The greens were lightning quick, but rolled very true. I thought it was one of the best courses I have played in Northern Virginia.

The Piedmont Club is a challenging course in excellent shape. The greens are extremely fast, yet fair. The views from several tee boxes are quite beautiful. The food is very good and the service is quite friendly. The pro shop has a talented and helpful staff. The Piedmont Club provides an excellent golfing experience.

Played Piedmont in the GolfStyles Solstice Survival on July 2nd. Course is in great shape but extremely tough; the fairways and greens were hard as a rock and unforgiving for anything except a perfect shot. Tom Fazio has a way of placing fairway bunkers in just the right spots to catch offline drives or lay-ups. The design is challenging and mostly fair but overall I can't give the course an eagle because it is just too penal for the average golfer, taking away from the enjoyment of the experience.

I had the opportunity to play here with a work colleague. Piedmont Club is one of the better designs in the region. The bunkering is fantastic and the conditioning may the best I have experienced. The greens were lightning quick but rolled very true. The houses rarely detract from the course and are generally well out of play. If you are lucky enough to get an invitation to play from a member, do not pass up the chance to play.

Unlike the other Mike from Vienna, I think this is a clear cut five flag course. The layout is trademark Fazio; great design and plenty of eye-candy. The greens are fast and subtle, but provide plenty of break. The conditioning is about as good as you will find in this area outside of Congressional and RTJ. In fact the super is a former assistant at RTJ. The staff, facilities, and food at Piedmont are fantastic. If you are considering joining a private club, check this place out.

I have mixed feelings about this course. Like many Tom Fazio courses I have played, this is a good golf course, but not great. Too many of the holes are similar in design and character and the 18th hole is likely the only hole you'll remember more than one day after playing the course. The course is the golfing equivalent of a skipping record. On a positive note, despite being surrounded by houses, the course never feels claustrophobic unlike other area designs.
