I love Mike Strantz, so I really liked this course...it's fascinating, as long as you know what to expect: huge greens, wide fairway landing areas, wild contours, and visually arresting hole design. Where this differs from Royal New Kent is being largely in the woods, particularly driving the cart between holes. Shady course, so grass is missing in many spots. The conditions were only OK. Position is more important than length on most holes.

A difficult but fair course along the lines of its sister course Royal New Kent, only with much less gorse! A similar amount of blind tee shots though, although the fairways are much more generous here. Almost all tee shots also have a white post to aim at, and nearly all you can also go a little right of the post as well. I didn't have near the trouble I usually do with hitting those the first time. A little browning and fatigue in fairways though brings the overall grade down.

Tough layout with many risk, reward holes.

I can't wait to read and see the GolfinAmigos review of this course. It's one of my favorites because of the extreme challenge. The course is always in great shape and a true adventure to play. The traditionalist might not like the design but if you can score anywhere near your average here they you're playing some great golf. Lots of mounding, blind tee shots and very large greens. The clubhouse is a great spot for a meal or drink after your round.

I love this course! Great design. Very creative. No two holes are alike, and most holes are unlike anything you'll see on any other course. Yes, there are a lot of blind shots, but if you are a low to mid handicapper, you shouldn't have a problem finding the fairway. I hit 10 of them. Overall, it is a tough course, but for me, the unique layout makes this course a must-play.

My favorite Williamsburg course. Great people and the course is always in good shape. A challange for hig cappers and low. If you want some fun and play a course that makes you use your head I suggest checking it out.

Double Bogey

The only thing missing was the windmill and the clown's mouth. This course was like playing minature golf on a big scale. Too many blind shots and drop offs make for lots of time looking for balls that should have been in the middle of the fairway.
