It might be in the middle of no where but it's worth the drive to play a great Nicklaus design. The front nine is tight with plenty of trees to avoid. The views of the surrounding mountains are outstanding. The back nine is open meandering through the valley adjacent to the lodge. Conditions were superb and the staff was good. Good practice area with grass range and good practice and chipping area. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend trip then Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort is great idea.

Beautiful course and layout. Lots of elevation changes and undulation in the greens. A good stop that's not far off the interstate and a great place for a weekend getaway either with a golf buddy or significant other. Staff was ok, the starter didn't have much to say for a first time golfer here like myself but the clubhouse staff was nice.

Outstanding course. Played it recenlty with a couple of buddies, the elevation changes and the way the course rolls through the hills and around the lake and lodge is a real treat. In very good condition and the starter, pro shop staff and everyone at the lodge was nice during our stay. Would love to go back.

OK course, but not worth money. Change in terrain and tightness makes for a challenging round.

Very good conditions. Very pretty location. Pretty good design. I liked everything except for three things: (1) There were a number of boring holes, which I didn't expect from a Nicklaus design; (2) They think deep weeds just off the fairways and green are a good hazard. (3) In all of their advertisements, they take a picture that appears as if they have a hole right on the large lake at the state park. Do not believe that picture. Either that is the practice green or an enhanced photo.

Great venue! Very scenic and an awesome course to match the view! Fairways are demanding, greens are very smooth, hazards are abundant, and bunkers are always lurking around the greens! I have played here 3 or 4 times now, and it keeps getting better and better. A Jack Nickalus signature course. A bit on the expensive side, but well worth the price! Oh, and the carts have the GPS on them, SWEET!

Great course. Tough, played long from the blue tees, fairways were a little wet. Must hit the ball straight and greens were very good, fast and a lot of undulations. My wife and I had a very enjoyable time.

Tough narrow front 9! Up and down the mountain. Back 9 is flatter and a bit more open.
