Played last Saturday. Course is starting to get dry, rough is burning out and some of the greens are a little bumpy. I enjoy the layout here there are some nice holes some non-descript. My big problem is with the pace. I normally schedule a tee time for around 7:00 am, pretty early right? But the course is almost always already backed up by then at least 1 or 2 groups. I can only imagine the pace of play teeing off at 9 or 10. Still a decent experience, at least while the grass is still alive.

I played Rattlewood twice this weekend and I must say that the conditions couldn't be too much better at this municipal course. The greens were absolutely lightning fast! The fairways looked good and the rough was penal. They have done extensive work in their bunkers and I must say they were in the best shape I've ever seen them. The conditions can struggle when there is a lack of rain, but lately that hasn't been a problem.

Played this course for first time past weekend, pleasantly surprised, course is in very good condition and great for the price; $45 after 12pm including cart and small bucket of range balls. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape, greens a little bumpy after aeration but still not bad, and quite fast. Pace of play OK at 4.5 hours for my round. This course presents a good but fair challenge for mid-high handicap golfers, interesting layout with lots of variety and doesn't overly punish wayward shots.

Played a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course. All the rain this spring has turned the course around from the dust bowl it was at the end of last summer. Fairways were in great shape and the greens were a little bumpy but still in decent shape.

With all due respect to the previous poster, "recovery" is only relative to how bad it was last summer. The fairways are not yet totally grown back. At this point, there's no way the fairways will return to "carpet" shape. If you're going to drive to a course, keep going 15 minutes more up the road to Challedon instead. I love Rattlewood, but I'll be golfing elsewhere.

Course has made a nice recovery from last year’s drought. Greens had recently been aerated but other than that everything was in decent shape. Some traps were hard pan and could use raking. They are doing some improvements to the clubhouse so they pro-shop and bar/grill area are sharing the same space for a while. Worth a play but not worth driving out of the way for.

Played yesterday and it was a total waste of money. The course is in really bad shape. Because of the drought, you can't tell the difference between the fairway and rough. Luckily the rough isn't too thick to penalize you. Most of the fairways were actually dirt so you're better off in the rough. Greens were OK, kinda slow. Course layout is good and short, but a lot of blind shots and elevation change. I would only play here in the spring, or when I hear that the conditions have gotten better.

Course is wide open for the most part and the back nine is much straighter and shorter than the front. Greens were in good shape, but fairway was a little rough with dirt and withered grass. The one down side of this course is that it is hilly and there are a lot of blind shots that force play to be slow. Course had a good crowd, so I guess the word is out about this place. Amenities were nice, but it's the layout with the blind shots which makes this course for me below average.

Course is in good shape for this time of year, greens are quick, and under 4 hours on a Sunday mid-morning. They have some good November specials including, cart, balls, and breakfast for under $50.00. Head Pro gave us a flier, $23, all you can play Mon-Thu, all you can play after 11 AM. Great fall views as well. Wear some good wind gear, some of the higher elevation holes are pretty chilly.

I had a great time at this course, staff was great and the fairways were wide for a slicer like me. Greens were hard to read, that made it little tough. This is a must play.

Decent Muni but a bit out of the way on the edge of Montgomery County. Good part it wasn't packed so our round moved at a good pace. Mostly open course with tough greens. Not easy to read and have some grain that is funky to figure out. Overall well maintained and a fun play.

Played the course early this year 03/18/05 ( from the back of the tee box) with 2 family members from Michigan, ,both are +2/3 hcp, the course was in good condition for the season , both were in heaven just to be able to hit the ball in March - although the 17yr old felt the corse played short, but found the greens to be challenging, fairways open, and the clubhouse nice, overall for march it was a great time, they are looking forward to playing it again this summer.

Good county course with good greens. There is a large clubhouse good for drinks with friends after your round. Decent practice facilities. Fairways are wide and hard to go OB, good course for us Hackers and good players alike.

Played this course recenlty with some buddies from Baltimore. The course was in good condition with tougher greens than you would think for a county owned course. Large open fairways letting you off the tee with not much punishment for bad shots. Some nice par 3s and some longer Par 5s if you play from the back tees. I would recommend this course if your in the area and the price is fair to.
