Wow might be an understatement. You get everything at the River... scenic views, great design and first class conditions. If there is a drawback it might be the understated clubhouse. Practice area and range are very nice as well. Depending on traffic going across the Bay Bridge is always a crap shoot but worth the trip.

I played Queenstown Harbor River Course for the first time and I had an excellent experience there. The course was in the best shape of any course I've ever experienced. The greens were immaculate, rolled true and the seed was medium to medium fast. Fairways and tee boxes were well marked and in great condition. The staff was helpful and courteous. I would love to play the course again soon.

River course is in excellent shape. They changed the greens 1.5 yrs ago and are a bit on the hard side still. Greens rolled really well. Rough was high but not patchy. Wind picked up towards the closing holes and we played straight into the wind. Tough finish with 10-15 mph gusts. Course management is a must to score well here.

Played 9/1 about a week after the greens were aerated. Greens putted slow of course, but didn't throw your ball offline. Other than that, the course was in great shape. Again I thought the fore-caddie slowed down play as we had a group without one breathing down our neck on the front 9 and we had a 15 min head start. Also, our caddie wasn't able to locate quite a few balls, so that was very disappointing considering none were hit OB.

Played there yesterday for the first time in a few years. The conditions were excellent and the greens are fast. They take some time to get use to. Fore caddie was kinda cool, but I thought it slowed us down having to wait for him to setup before we teed off on each hole and around the entire course while we waited for yardages or for him to hold/swap our clubs. Maybe having 2 caddies per group would have been better. Overall I think playing the new 'River' was great experience and I'll be back soon.

The course have everything and the conditions are the best anywhere. With the new greens it's like putting on perfection. The layout is great with views of the River and mash carries that always make you think on the tee. Only downsides are the average clubhouse and and the price. The fore-caddies are nice but is it worth the extra 20 per person in the foursome, not if the greens fees are already over $130. Worth a trip but if you play the MDGOLF courses allot the membership is a good deal.

With the hype of reopening the River course, now called "The River", myself and a couple of friends made our way out past the Bay bridge this past weekend. The fore caddies are optional, nice but not worth the extra charge. The conditions we're top notch except for a couple of hard bunkers from the rains the night before. The new greens are spectacular, rolling quick and smooth. Some of the best I've ever played. A great challenge, terrific design but the increase in price is too steep.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but since they redid the greens and approaches this year, the River is better than Bulle Rock. Worth the price tag. Fore-caddies included in price, but optional if you don't want to pay the tip. New practice green and putting area are commiserate with price. Clubhouse not on par with Bulle Rock, however, I guess I'm not there to sit in the clubhouse. Views and atmosphere on the back nine are incredible.

Love the course but the price for the River is out of control. The greens fee is $155 all day with no twilight discount, and you have to get a forecaddie. That brings a golf outing to nearly $200. They just opened the river course in May 2007 which has cause d the lakes to get jam packed. The greens are on par with Bulle Rock, the practice range and clubhouse do not justify the $200 golf outing.

This past Saturday the course was in great condition with no signs of the heat damage recently seen at other courses. The fairways and greens were almost perfect and the staff should be commended for doing such a great job. The design has some nice views of the river and bay with a few tee box carries over marsh make for a scenic adventure. There area a couple of par 5's that can make a decent score turn bad quickly if you try to over power the layout. A great test of your golfing ability.

I have been a Member her from the beginning. One of the best layouts you can play. Courses (River & Lakes) are always in the bset of conditions and yes they do fight the greens from time to time. They have just built a HUGE short game practice area and shold be open soon. They are re-doing the greens on the river this fall so next summer look out....this will again be the best of the best.

My friend and I have made many early morning tracks to this course since it first opened. We will play both the river and the lakes. Our favorites.

This course is in a beautiful location, but right now, the greens are in lousy shape. They're splotchy and nearly texture free, making it incredibly hard to get anything but an extremely high trajectory shot to stick to them. Fairways are in better shape, though a bunch of the rough areas around the greens were recently aerated, making it even harder still to get chip shots to sit down.I can see this course being exceptional, but I'll not go back until the greens actually have green on them...

Great layout, beautiful setting and very friendly, good service. However, the poor shape of the greens almost ruins the experience, especially considering the price they charge. Despite this rather large complaint, I plan on returning.

One time I played this course in gale winds. It was almost impossble to play. Everyone in our group of five foursomes double parred the opening hole with the wind directly into us. If the wind is up, play the Lakes course. We had short iron shots blow backwards 50 yards and hit 3 irons 100 yards. I won't forgive our coordinator who insisted on the River course that day. Ruined the experience of playing a wonderful layout. Immensly enjoyed the course on a calmer day. Fastastic course but pricey.

New to the area and recently played this course for the first time. It is an oustanding course plain and simple. The layout, views and feel of the course are great. Nice views of the Chesapeake River with a good mix of open holes and tight holes. Some forced carries, well protected Par 3's. Even though I haven't played many courses since I moved here this is the best so far. I look forward to playing the other course there soon.
