Played July 3rd and the course is in great shape and greens were well maintained and rolling well. The round was slow for a 7:30 tee time, but the price was right and the course conditions made up for the slow play. A wide open course set up to grant you some forgiveness off the tee, but you still can get into some trouble if you stray to far from the fairway.

Poolesville Golf Course is a hidden gem. I am kind of glad it gets bad reviews because it lets me play 2.5 to 3 hour rounds mid week. The course is in excellent condition with fast greens. The only negative is the sub sub par food and beverage situation, but I am not there to eat or drink.

Fairways were in good shape, but the greens were a little rough. Play was slow and no one was around to police the situation. The owners need to seriously open up there wallets and invest in building a decent clubhouse. There are a lot of other nice courses out there for the bucks.

The course was in good shape for early Spring. The course is long for a County course. I believe 6900 yds from tips. The holes are fairly nondescript. The greens had been punched for aeration but ran very quick for early Spring. When they heal, the course could be very challenging. The only drawback is no real clubhouse to enjoy a post game beverage. However, that shouldn't be a deterrent for playing this course.

Decent muni and a pretty good value. The course is very open so you can getaway with been inaccurate off the tee. Tees and fairways are a bit firm for my taste and the bunkers need some sand. The greens are the best part of the course with some slopes that are tough to negotiate if you get on the wrong side of the green. Not worth a long drive but if you're in the area is worth a play.

Poolesville is not too exciting, but the greens & fairways were in pretty good shape this past weekend. Water comes into play on a few holes. The facilities are sparse and the snack bar is a tent with a hot dog cart. It’s a decent experience for the price.

The course was in good condition this past weekend. The fairways needed to be mowed, but the rest of the course was in good shape. The bunkers had a good amount of sand and the greens rolled great. A great municipal course where you can bomb the ball with driver on most holes. No homes to be found on this parkland style course, which is great if you are just looking to get away from the grind for a day.

Played Poolesville yesterday with low expectations and was surprised. I'm used to playing 5 hour plus rounds at Poolesville with sub par conditions over past 3 years or so. However, the course is in great shape. The greens are in the best condition I have seen for several years. The fairways are in great shape as well. The pace was about 4.5 to 5 hours, but that was due to some struggles of my game and heat. If you haven't played in awhile, give it a shot, you may be surprised.

The course is coming along for the early season. Greens are decent now but the rough and some spots in the fairway are still thin. It seems they're putting new sand in the bunkers so hopefully the rest of the course will be coming in shortly. My local muni that me and some friends like to play. A bit longer than your standard muni but very open and hard to loose balls. Greens have more slope than you would think and are the toughest part of playing here.

Took the ferry across the Potomac to meet a friend here yesterday. It seems they've started some spring maintence in some places. The greens were decent and a bit bumpy and the fairways were pretty good for this time of year. The rough is very spotty and hopefully will fill in over the next month or so. The layout is pretty straight forward some tree lined fairways but not much trouble. The greens do have a bit of slope and are the toughest aspect of the course.

Course was in very good shape, since my last visit. Still plays long but is fair. Fairways and green had plenty of grass and seemed to be watered. We were only players out early, pace of play was great.

My local muni that is cheap to play and has some very challenging greens. Most fairways are pretty wide open and if you can drive the ball well, you should be able to score. Some of the pin positions can border on unfair depending on how fast the greens are running. Knowing the greens is the key to scoring here.

Course is in very good shape. Fairways are well maintained and greens are in excellent shape. Beware, this course is long! You will get plenty of use of your driver and wood play. Staff was good. This is an old course so don't expect too many amenities.

The course is in the best shape I've ever seen. Greens are always slope and a test to play but the conditions are finally perfect. Fairways and traps all though packed because of the rains are in decent shape. Only issue was some of the tees were slightly uneven. But for the price its a fun play.

Long course. There are a couple of open holes here, but you need to have your driver working to score well. The greens were in great shape and were very fast. Tee boxes and traps were in moderate condition. The problem with this course was the fairways. There were a few that were picture-perfect, but the majority were full of crabgrass. I hope that management takes care of this quickly. Buy a yardage book. There are a couple holes where it will come in handy.

Nice open layout with greens that are in the best shape I've seen in years. Played yesterday mid-day and made the track around in a little over 4 hours. Staff is nice enough and average for you local municipal. Plays longer than most courses from the white tees but very open, hard to loose any dirves off the tee.

Decent muni that is long for most average golfers as myself. Very open and walkable course for those of us who still choose to walk. Greens are more challanging than they look with slope that you usually don't see at a muni. Fairways and tees were in decent condtion. The layout isn't to inspiring but a nice play. Oh, and you gotta love the real "roadhouse bar" with the local characters you go to for turn food and beverage.

The layout is pretty straight forward. Greens have ample slope but were a bit slow and bumpy. But still winter conditions moslty anywhere. The rough and fairways were spotty to say the best. Hopefully it will grow in during spring.

Flat and long course that was in good condition. Tees and greens also in good condition. Nice range and a cold one at the end of the round was very good. Play this course alot and never have a problem walking on and getting out quickly. Price is nice too.

Course was a bit damp but in decent shape for this time of the year. Greens were not in top form but would be expected before the spring bloom. A fun open track that has some challanging greens. The bowl shaped greens along with strategic pin placement can make for some difficult chips and putts.

The course is an old style course and is well maintained. The employees are helpful and friendly. Could use a few more sand traps with softer sand. Greens are good and run about 9 to 10 in speed. Plays long enough in length for even a longer then average hitter to be tested. It is a very enjoyable course to play.

I really like the fact that I can play 3 rounds of golf here for what I'd pay for one round at a place like Worthington Manor. Pace will always be an issue with the cheap cost, so bring your patience when you play here. Tees and fairways were in great condition. Greens and bunkers need some work, but are playable. Don't expect too much here and you'll be fine. To sum it all up, it's a cheap round of golf on a course with a good amount of length. Perfect place for me.

Decent county course. Greens are usually in good shape and with enough slope to challange everyone. A bit longer for a hacker like me but wide open so I find most of my slices.
