Good layout, good conditioning and challenging without being unfair. Added bonus NO houses lining the course. Well worth visiting.

This course would be a 3.5 if I had the chance. The greens at Pohick are in amazing shape and very slick. The fairways were good, the staff was very outgoing and friendly. Some tee boxes were a little thin but this could be expected due to the high rate of play. Overall a good experience.

Course is in great shape over last two years. Not a long course, but you must hit fairways. Rough is difficult and thick. Holes are tight and tree lined. Greens are in excellent shape. There are a few bunkers that need work, but most are strong. While I dislike the par 5 13th as a poorly designed hole, the rest of the course is excellent. While not long, you can hit driver off most tees, but a smart player will hit every club in the bag throughout the round.

Played today and yesterday in fact. It is not a spectacular course, but it is better than average. I prefer the layout of this course over Brambleton, Algonkian, and Greendale. The greens are a little bumpier than Brambleton, but they are still in very good condition. Overall, the course is very green. On a down note, all tee boxes are closed so there are mats for the par 3's and tee markers set next to the tees on par 4's and 5's. Fortunately, they do NOT have any temporary greens.

Soggy fairways and burnt rough areas. The greens were decent but had some inconsistency in the speeds. What makes this course so pathetic are the 80 year old marshalls that have no business being out there. One of the marshalls blamed us for the dead grass because a tire on the golf cart was sitting in the rough. Our foursome was on the 18th fairway and the idiot marshall actually told us to pick up the pace as we were waiting for the twosome ahead of us to clear the green. Skip it until 08!

Accuracy is key here, as most holes are bordered by unforgiving woods and the fairways average less than 25 yards wide. Yesterday, the course was soggy and the rough was up, making it more challenging. This is a course that makes you think...much has been made of the 13th hole, and its severely sloping green, but some other holes can get you. Not very long. A fair test, in reasonable shape and tranquil surroundings. If you hate blind shots, though, you might want to skip.

Nice course. I would recommend this to anyone. Long hitters beware.

Good condition and pace played a Saturday morning round in 4:20. Course is a bit short but deceptively challenging. Water only comes into play on a couple of holes. Back 9 was a bug's paradise.

Decent course and in ok condition considering we haven't had much rain in a while. Some nice Par 3s and more doglegs than a kennel. The design benifits a strategic golfer who can hit spots. The staff was nice and the price isn't to bad, plus it's a bit closer than the bigger named courses further down I-95.

Nice course for the female golfer with plenty of holes that require accurate shots instead of distance. I have a couple of playing partners who are male and we bet sometimes so the course takes length out of the equation. The staff is always pretty friendly but can get busy on the weekends. We prefer twilight tee times but sometimes the rounds can be slow. Refer to the scorecard before pulling out the dirver on a couple of holes. Sometimes laying up is the best call!

Nice all-around course. Good sand traps this past weekend. But, the front pin placement on number 13 was unfair due to the speed of the greens. It was lik Shinnicock Hills. I was 10 feet below the hole, and after 3 putts went up near the hole and then came back to my feet, I had to do the unthinkable; pick up my ball. That's not fun. This tended to back everybody up that day, because of the impossible pin placement. Otherwise, it's a great muni-type course for the money thats difficult from tee to green.

The fairways were in extremely poor shape and the greens were not properly top dressed. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Played on Sunday(8/14) and was pleasantly surprised. Every tee box, except one, was in great shape. All the greens were in good shape but a little tricky. On a day when it was 100 degrees out, there was water everywhere and the cart-lady many apperances. First time playing here and I loved the layout of the course. Will definitely be back!

A couple steep holes, a couple flat holes, a couple short holes, a couple longer Par 4s. The course plays a little more difficult than you might imagine, and being right on the Bay, it is well maintained and quiet.

I played this course several times last year and was always in pretty good shape. Being a service member who moved from New Mexico last year, I really like the golf in this area.

Some of the holes might be considered "quirky" by some, but it's usually from players who don't like courses where you actually have to hit a target. A good mix of tighter Par 4s and good Par 3s. And for the price its a pretty good deal. Just remember to make a tee time in advance it seems to be a locals favorite.
