Challenging but fair layout.Good conditioning and NO houses lining the fairways.Very enjoyable to play and staff was courteous and friendly. Only drawback, it's slightly overpriced. Use a TeeTime pass.

Pleasant Valley was in good shape, fairways a 4, tee boxes a 4, greens 3.5. The greens were at medium speed and in ok shape, just like South Riding. This course has GPS in the carts, and it seems like its a good family course. Recommendation Tee Times Pass so you can pay 25 with cart, instead of the asking $83.

Pros: it's better than it's sister course South Riding. Cons: Overpriced ($83/weekday?), condition of course will vary from poor to above average, grounds crew doesn't stop to allow play, couple greens are still infested with cicada-killer wasps. One thing you can count on is that the pro shop staff will be condescending and unappreciative of you business. For the money, play Raspberry Falls or Lansdowne, much better golf courses without the attitude.

Course ranks above average in layout. A bit above average in my mind. Lots of different holes no hole looks similar. The current conditions however are a bit ragged. Tee boxes chewed up a bit and a few fairways are showing signs of disease and bare spots. Greens, bunkers and most everything else was pretty good, except for hard pan a bit beyond the rough. Decent service but for the overall experience a bit over priced.

The course is in good shape. There is trouble to get into off the tee and approach shots. The greens have some unfixed ball marks, but overall are in good shape. It is some what of a links style course and the wind makes the course quite difficult when it blows.

I always enjoy this layout, and the conditions are generally good each time I play it. Today was no exception. There are fair number of birdies to be had if you're on your game. This is not an overly-long course, but tee shot placement is important on several holes. If there's a downside, it's the $98 weekend and $83 weekday rates. There are other courses in the area that charge half as much and are just as enjoyable.

Good course and I like the design, lots of variety. Probably a birdie course but there were a couple of issues this past Saturday during my last round there. Pace was slow, there was an outing ahead of us and it seems the squeezed in to may foursomes. The round was over 5 hours. The other issue is the far rough. It was really firm and hard pan leading to some tough lies and weird bounces. Hard to be difficult on the course the entire DC area is in need of rain at this point.

Played here yesterday and the course was in great shape. I really like the layout, good mix of tough and score able holes. The first six holes are a bit of a test and then you get a good stretch through the middle holes where birdies can be found if you can get off the tee without issue. Staff is decent and the range and practice area is good for working on your game. I recommend playing here when you get a chance.

It is nice that there are no homes on the course. The course is in good shape and is a challenging course. The greens are in good shape and the people are all friendly in the clubhouse. The range definitely needs a lot of work. Half of the balls are dead and the mats have been beat up pretty badly.

Course was in excellent condition this past weekend. Only complaint is the greens were a bit slower than they looked but that's probably because of all the recent rain. One of the better NOVA layouts. Staff service is good. Range could use some new mats. Not overly difficult but from the right tees is a good challenge.

Played here a few weeks ago for the 1st time in 5 years. I had always avoided it due to pace of play, but on a Sunday morning we actually had the course to ourselves. I had forgotten how much I like this course design. It's challenging enough without ruining my weekend. Plus, it's playable for higher handicappers. I had my father in law with me, who is a 20 plus handicapper, and he loved it. The course was in excellent shape and the service was just as good if not better than I remembered.

From tees to greens, the course is in great condition. Greens are firm and true. They have a hole-in-one entry for $5 for hole No. 7 and the pot was up over $3,500 as of last weekend.

Course was in good shape and the rough was a bit thick for my taste this past weekend. You can score here if you hit the ball fairly straight. I really like the design. A decent mix of parkland and open holes, a couple of split fairways and some water hazards to negotiate. They offer some decent twilight rates and specials on their email specials.

I play the course frequently with a friend and this past weekend the course was a bit crispy and dry around the edges. The lack of rain is starting to affect this course and many other we like to play. The greens are ok but showing signs of fatigue as well. Fairways are in good and the design is one of the best around in my opinion. Not worth the weekend morning price right now but still a decent play for a twilight round. Plus no houses around and that's hard to find anywhere in NOVA.

Still enjoy playing this course, but as others have said, the cicada wasps have really torn up several of greens. They're still playable, but very bumpy in places. Rest of the course is just fine but in my opinion not worth full price; especially on weekends. Still a fun course if you can play off peak times or with a coupon.

I played Pleasant Valley for the first time and really liked the layout. The people were friendly and the practice facilities are great. The course conditions are mixed right now. They have an infestation of cicada killer wasps that have effected the condition of 5-6 of the greens. Rest of the course is in great shape.

I've played it for years and love the layout but the current conditions are in private club caliber from tee to green. It's a popular track so book your tee times early in the week. Nice range and decent clubhouse.

Played yesterday and the course was in outstanding shape. Greens, fairways, tees and traps were in top notch shape. I really like the design, which is a good challenge but not super difficult. If you play the right tees you should have a great day at Pleasant Valley. Price is a bit steep for the weekend but is par with other daily fees in the area. I do prefer Pleasant Valley over their sister course South Riding. No houses on the course and the greens are not as severely sloped.

Overall condition was a B+. The greens were in good shape, but a little inconsistent in hardness. Because of the dry conditions my Lob wedge approach on number 1 hit the center of the green and went through. Other then that hole the rest of the greens were pretty receptive, but that first hole had me worried. The rest of the course was in good shape and the pace of play was actually good. I think we played a 4.5 hour round starting a 3:30. I enjoyed my overall experience.

New range mats! This was the missing piece to a wonderful golfing experience. The course was in great shape and it seems the management has heeded the advice of it's guests and improved the range with new balls and mats and an improved dedication to customer service! Will play it again very soon!

Played the course for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday. Course was in great shape. Even the sand was playable, despite all of the rain we have had. The course is challenging, scenic, away from homes and walkable. Much nicer than it's sister course, South Riding. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I would play here more often if it were a little cheaper; the only reason I didn't give it an Eagle rating. I highly recommend this course.

The course was in great shape this last weekend. One of the fee courses I've played that had some real rough with the drier conditions this year. Most fairways are open and fair, not to many blind shots. A good mix of risk reward and overall challenge. Some of the greens are tricky to read but if you can hit good shots you should have a few runs at birdie. The customer service was good and the range and practice area was OK. They really need some new mats on the range.

Made first venture here today. Course itself was in great shape especially considering drought we've had. Loved the layout and hole configurations, the greens could have been in a bit better shape but not bad. Bees inundating first green only so beware there. Fairways gorgeous. Check range first before you pay to warm up, if it's 'mats only' stay away! The uneven lie/crap mats will break your clubs and don't hold tees. Overall I rate it a solid 4 to 4.5 and will return!

Course was in good shape and the greens were rolling true. The rates were a little pricey.

I know it’s early in the season but the course is in horrible shape. The fairways and rough have bare spots and the greens bumpy and uneven. It wouldn’t have been too bad if the rates were discounted but they charged the full rate. I used to love to play there but won’t be back anytime soon.

The course is in good shape. The greens are running quick and they are under new management. The fairways are lush and the bunkers are always raked. Lately the play is much faster with a typical 4 to 4 and a half hour round.

I've always enjoyed this course. A good layout and usually in excellent condition. Actually played here three times this year and loved it each time. Of course it's expensive, even with a play pass or coupon, but it's worth it. Nice mix of short and very long par 4's. Hole 18 is an excellent hole. Great design!

Course is challenging but fair. GPS on the carts is great. While I liked the speed of the greens, they are a little chewed up from the summer wear and tear. They also are having problems with boring bees on the greens. This is a problem with several of the Loudoun county courses that I have played this summer. The Saturday AM rates are a little too steep, but a Players Pass rate or a twilight rate is a good value.

The course (fairways & tees) is in decent shape but the greens we're terrible. They are scuffed-up and covered with some kind of bug holes that create little sand piles all over the green. In addition the starter is a total grouch. I think it's a bit too expensive for the condition.

Nice course usually in good shape. Good layout without any homes near the course. Service is usually bad, south riding and pleasant valley are sister courses and share the same bad service. A bit overpriced but so are all the rest of the Fairfax "upscale" courses.

Nice course, but the worst service I've ever recieved playing golf. Staff was rude, and the place is a bit overpriced.

Played course on 10/28 and course was in great shape while in area on business. Even after the hot summer, the greens were in great shape. Good variety of holes throughout the course. GPS on carts nice feature as it gave distance from your cart to pin position, not center of green. Tough but fair course.

Played course recently in outing. Nice Clubhouse with lounge area. Course was wet but no standing water. Greens were not very difficult but not easy to read. Bunkers make shots to green difficult but GPS on cart is good for distance. Fairways in good shape even though wet. Bunkers a bit hard due to recent rain.

Great course! This course is well maintained and plays extremely well for being a public course. Pro does and outstanding job maintaining level of play. The only downside is the amout of driving range space for warming-up. Tournament play is slow and in most cases poorly run. Staff is pretty knowledgable, but could use some work. Quality of the course is ourstanding and is playing real well.
