The course is losing the greens on 3 and 4. The greens seem to be sick maybe from the pond water bacteria used to water them. The fairways are bare on a few holes, this course took a 180 in the past 3 weeks. I'll keep you informed.

Pinecrest is in great shape, the greens are running at a good pace. The fairways are in great shape, the tee boxes are a little beat-up from lots of play. This county course will challenge your accuracy with lots of O.B. and tight fairways. Great municipal 9 hole course.

Nice little course to warm up your game for the upcoming year. Staff was extra friendly and assisted my group in getting out without a hitch. Course has a nice mixture of traps and water on holes so you see it all. Greens were being aerated which made putting a challenge along with some blind shots into some greens, but a good place, price, and location to take in a round of golf.

Pinecrest was in excellent condition for mid March. This courses has hired a new greens keeper last year and it reflects on almost every hole. What was once a Fairfax County last resort is becoming the hidden secret inside the beltway.

For a quick 9 holes you get a little bit of everything. Wide - thin fairways, uphill, downhill, water comes into play. Used to be an 18 hole course but got snipped when they developed townhouses around the course. I play this course at least once a week and still have trouble on it. My one beef is the concrete sandtraps but that seems to be the thing with VA muni courses. But you get a good bang for your buck here.
