Penderbrook is offering some very nice email deals that you can get by registering your name in their website. For around $35 or less you can ride 18 and get a free lunch or free beer after 2pm. I don't think there is a course in DC or suburban DC that can match that deal. As for the golf course...it's OK. It winds its way through a development but there are plenty of trees to buffer the backyards on most holes. Water holes and some elevation change makes this a good change from East Potomac

You get what you pay for here. If you are looking for service you came to the wrong club. The course is in decent shape, but the greens don't run too smooth. It is a decent course to practice, but not to score.

We teed off around 2 p.m. and didn't get to finish the round until 7 p.m. There was no marshall in sight to move along the pace of play. The condition of the golf course was decent. Definitely not worth the $42 I paid especially during twilight.

I play this course fairly regularly, and can say that the conditions of the course have improved a lot in the past two years. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are reasonably well-maintained. The rough areas aren't so great and are thin, burned out sometimes. The overall the conditions are great for a course that gets so much play. However, I've had numerous rounds of over 5.5 hours - weekdays and weekends. The starters and marshals need to do a much better job of keeping play moving. Good beer carts.

Natural layout is one of the best in the area and challenging.

Definitely not as bad as some earlier reviews, good layout, with some great "risk reward" opportunities. Greens and fairways in good shape, some tee boxes were a little banged up. $55 after 12 on the weekend wasn't bad at all.

Played this course today and it is looking a lot better than prior ratings have it for. The course has made a nice turn around as the greens were lush and fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes were cut properly and overall the course was worth the $45 which included the cart. Only catch is that the course is a short one and the only eye sore was hole 17 which was undergoing some major fairway repairs due to flooding. Tee box on that hole was also a temporary too.

First time playing Penderbrook since early last season and the course was in better shape then I remember, with the exception of the tee boxes, which were very rough, way overgrown in most cases. Surprisingly the fairways and greens were in pretty good shape, lush fairways and greens rolled pretty well. There is no course management to be found, no starter, no marshall. 4 hour round was nice, nobody on the course. A little attention to maintenance and this course could be a par.

I wish there was an option for zero flags, cause that's what it should get. This is hands down the worst course I've ever come across.

I revisited Penderbrook after many years since it was a regular stop in the early 90s. I won't be back very soon...it's truly bad. First the good news: the price is right, lowest among daily fee courses in NOVA. Second, a fun fact, the golf carts are LIGHTNING FAST! Now the bad: a tight and quirky layout nestled among houses, OB and many water hazards. Bare tee grounds, unmowed or rock hard rough areas, bumpy greens, hard sand, rude clientele, indifferent staff. Two unfair/stupid holes.

The only thing this course has going for it is location. The layout is dreadful and the conditioning is poor based on the rates this course commands.

Conditions have improved some. Fairways are decent, greens average at best. BUT, good for a practice round considering it is in the heart of Fairfax County, right near Fair Oaks and is possibly the least expensive course you will find, especially if you join their email club and use the discount form they email out. Also, it is easy to get on. Another plus is that it is tight and gives you practice at that. Lots of water and forced carries. So not that easy to score well.

This golf course, needs a major overhaul, surgery, or reengineering. Nice views but poor care. Greens need to be reworked.

If you want to play a cheap round Penderbrook is it. The course is in poor shape. Bad greens, fairways, and tee boxes. However, the price is very reasonable.
Average round takes about approx 5 hours on the weekend.

I continue to return to Penderbrook for overall excellent experience and the affordable (though somewhat unpredictable) fees. The staff are first rate. Tee boxes are raw, but well placed. Fairways very playable; sand placement will cost you a few strokes. The greens are always excellent. It's the course layout that makes up for some of the otherwise neutral conditions. It is narrow, twisting, and has elevation change to keep you thinking about each shot. A hidden gem in overcrowded Fairfax.

If you are looking for a nice afternoon round in Northen VA then you should not consider Penderbrook Golf Club. The Penderbrook golf course was desgined by Ault Clark. The Arnold Palmer company manges the course. There is nothing nice to say about the course. The greens need major work. The look like a 13 year old with acne. The tees are very chewed up. There is very little grass on the fairways. The pace of play is awful. The company clearly does not takecare of there course. Do not play here

My Sunday twilight round at Penderbrook was one of the worst golf experiences in my life. Tee boxes looked like land mine fields, fairways were spotted and bare in places. Bunkers had little to no sand and the greens were so pot marked it was hard to keep your ball on any line. The pace of play was horrific and there was no ranger on the course telling the guys teeing it up 10 times to move along. You expect more from a course managed by the supposed "Arnold Palmer Management Group".
