I can't complain for $28 with cart on a Thursday. Pros: Greens are much better then last time I was there Fairways are in decent, not great shape. Cons: Sand traps were like rocks. Tee boxes looked like a bombing range. On several holes it was hard to find a place to tee. Overall, I can't complain to much since it wasn't expensive, but this is certainly not a great course.

If you have not been to Patuxent Greens in a while I would highly recommend that you play it. The new owners have put a lot of money into getting the golf course into great shape. The fairways, tees & greens are as good as any golf club in the mid-Atlantic. The rough is a bit tough but then that's why it's called "rough" & not "easy"!

Played Sunday March 11, 2007 and the course is much improved since late last summer. Greens were receptive and bare spots last year in the fairway have grown in with new grass. New carts paths and the distance markers are easier to find. Still a little soggy after a night of rain but drainage is much better than it used to be. Great value and the greens are as soft and true as you can expect this time of year. Should be really nice when things get green.

This course has gone downhill. It is still a nice layout, but the conditions aren't what they were years ago. I hope management does something to improve the conditions.

Played Fri, 9/15. Course is in terrible shape. Fairways and rough are in the worst shape ever. Although the course was very wet, it was usually better to play out the rough than fairway. Greens and tee boxes were OK. Played behind an outing which of course was very slow, but that just gave me more time to soak in the bad conditions. No sight of any marshals, but that's' the usual when outings take precedent. Lowered price of $25, but unless you're a beginner, it's not worth your time.

Played this course on a Saturday, not too busy and pace of play was ok. The new owners are obviously trying to fix things up, but it's still a mess. The fairways are completely stripped in places, the tee boxes are bare and the rough is pretty rutted. The greens, however, are in pretty good shape and the people there were very friendly.

With the words "Country Club" in their name, my high expectations were not unreasonable. Played on sunday 08/30/05 and the course was a mess - tee boxes were stripped and covered in overgrown weeds, fairways were bare in many areas, the rough areas were in dire need of mowing. I lost a ball in the rough - that's how long the grass was! I've played many a better public courses at half the price! Awful, awful upkeep here.

Nice little challenging course. Very well maintained and enjoyable to play. Competative rates.

Was nervous to be playing Patuxent two days after heavy rain, but my group had planned on playing this day for some time. Imagine our surprise when we the starter told us that the cart rule was 90 degrees. With only one or two puddles visiable, the drainage issues that plagued this course for years seem to be gone. Greens and fairways were great, tees on par 3's were rough in spots, but others were nice and the bunkers could still use some work, though some were really nice. Good value

Made a visit with my boys after reading recent reviews. The reviews were on the mark. Fairways were in great shape. Rough was at reasonable length and the wooded areas were clean. Greens were fast. Bunkers were hit or miss. Some were great, others were bad. Tees were in good shape. Price was right - $35 inc. cart. Bevcart was around frequently and they even had a grille on the 1st and 9th holes. And the pro shop gave us a free coupon card for return visits. I'm sure we'll be back.

Course was much improved from the last time I played it. The drainage has been much improved and the course was in pretty good shape. They seem to have read peoples reveiws and put some money into improvements. For $25 with the cart I would recommend this course to anybody with comparable rates. It was a pleasant surprise for the money. Just don't ask me how I scored, but that wasn't the corses fault.

Played in a tournament about a week ago and the course was much improved since my last visit last summer. It looks like some work has been done to the bunkers and drainage, which had always been poor. Greens were rolling fast and true, considering the recent aerification and earlyness of the season. Price was right too ($25 with cart). A pleasant surprise to say the least.

This course was embarrassing! I had the luxury of having a great foursome, so it made the afternoon enjoyable. The course was definately un-forgettable. Greens...horrible. Fairways....patches of grass among the weeds. Tees...not mowed and not level. I would give this place a triple bogey if I could!

Nothing much good to say. Greens were in bad shape. Tee boxes, fairways (what ever it was) and bunkers were all not taken care of. To top it off, you get eaten alive by mosquitoes and biting flies. I hope the course is taken better care of because the course actually has a decent, classical layout.
