Course is in very good shape except for some ball marks on greens. Layout runs through housing which encroaches only in a few places. Par 3s are interesting but similar in length. Par 4s play short for 6600-yard track, except No. 9. Par 5s varied and offer a good risk reward. The range is poor only irons can be hit on the short. Chipping area very good. Staff is pleasant. Does not play to 140 slope.

First the course is a good design and was in good shape. However, if you're not on your A game or a high handicapper it can and will beat you up. The greens have multiple tiers and are tough to read. If you're on the wrong tier, a three putt is almost a given. Lots of up-hill and down-hill lies which makes chipping and shots to the green difficult at times. It's a great course but you'll have to play it allot to get to get a good feel for it.

The course was in amazing shape. The greens were challenging and very quick. The pace was the only downfall. It took 6 hours to play 18. This course has to be on the top of everyones must play list in the Northern Virginia area.

One of the better courses around the DC area. We played this past Saturday and the course was in descent shape. Some of the greens were a bit rough becuase golfers would not fix their ball marks. Greens held the balls nicely and rolled true. I had a good round going until the dreaded 18th hole. This is one of the toughest holes in Northern Virginia. Par is an excellent score on this hole. Overall experience is above average. Found out that they don't offer cold towels unless you pay full rack rates

Poor, poor, poor...I went out 2 weeks ago and the greens were in bad shape. When I mentioned it then, the guy in the pro shop blamed golfers for not repairing ball marks, huh? So instead of rolling and repairing the greens like every other decent course does this time of year, they just aerate in July. Today the greens were awful and no warning about the aeration to boot! And they charged full rates! This place sells itself as a premium course, but seems to constantly disappoint.

Course is in great shape. Greens were rolling well except pin placement was a bit on the unfair side. Hole 18 is the toughest hole on the course; definitely a 3 shot par 5. The second shot on this hole is no joke, probably the toughest one I’ve ever faced. When the wind blows...hang on tight!

Interesting layout even tho a tad gimmicky for my tastes with the several extremely short par 4's. Tee boxes, especially the Par 3's were a bit scarred up and could use some sand and seed boxes for fill to expedite regrowth. Some of the short par 4's also had landing areas littered with divots. As a 3-some we landed in a total of FIVE for the day. That is alot of "bad lies" for being in the middle of a fairway. Greens were nice and rolled pretty good.

I have played this course a couple of times and this is the best course in the area around Woodbridge. For one it's not very long and only demands that you play smart. All of the holes are well designed. The cons of the course is it's driving range and cost. I think the driving range was the last thing they put in, it's pretty small compared to other courses and to use your driver you must hit into a net. The cost I think is a little much for this course and too much for weekends.

I'm originally from Springfield living in San Diego now and this was the first round I played back here this year so forgive me if I'm a little harsh. Called on Monday 5/14 and they were able to get me on as a single no problem. However the pace of play for a Monday was unbearable, it took 5 hours and 20 minutes to play which is unacceptable. Played from the gold and it seemed that there were many tees moved up and the overall conditions (bare spots around the green and rough) were not great.

After reading Daniels comments below I decided to visit the course after Thanksgiving. Happily, he was correct! The course was in magnificent shape for this time of year. Traps were fluffy and the greens were perfect. Very challenging course with lots of fairway traps that are large. Greens are well bunkered too. Staff was very friendly and was happy to see the cart girl driving around to buy some drinks as well on this unusual hot day; great course to visit.

Course was in beautiful shape. It was challenging and fun to play as conditions were perfect. It is rare to find a nice public course that actually has fluffy sand traps. Fast pace, great amenities and friendly staff except for the starter who I would go as far as to saying he was a complete jerk to us. Getting a cart is highly recommended as it is a LONG haul between holes. One of the best course I've ever played and a overall must play!

A favorite course to play. Only drawback is the price, but with a coupon you can get on for around $50. Excellent tees, fairways and greens. Nice overall layout. Traps are the best in the area and there's a ton of them out there! A must play!

Played the course today, and it was a very pleasant round. It is a great layout with rolling fairways and undulating greens. The bunkers are big and beautiful. No doubt, if you play here, you'll be in the sand a few times! Conditions were great and the greens rolled very nicely. Favorite hole is par-4 #4 with a wood-faced peninsula green. Great long, uphill par-5 to finish as well.

Beautiful course, very challenging and in great condition. Only negative is greens are too fast. Almost impossible to hold the green with an approach or stop a put on any kind of a downslope. Well worth playing but be prepared to shoot above your average

Great layout, tough course (I shot 10 strokes over my average). Greens were the fastest I've ever played. However, amenities stunk. Long drives between holes, long hike to the grill at the turn, expensive food, no sand on tee boxes or on the carts, nothing on the carts to cover clubs when it rained, and their practice facility is really sub-par. Everything just feels like the houses are right on top of you. Just a little too urban-sprawl-y for me, although, as I said, it was a great layout.

Steep price. Overly high opinion of itself. Houses detract from play. But the fatal flaw, in my view, is any course where you have to drive two blocks from the clubhouse to the first tee, then drive one block from the 9th green to the 10th tee. There are long drives between other holes as well. Challenging layout, for sure, with some solid Par 5's.

Nice course, great conditions but the only negative are the houses that are to close to the course. Similar to Augustine when it was in good shape. Still a must play.

Excellent layout. The front nine favors the accurate player and the back nine favors the long hitter. The greens are challenging but fair. Pace of play on the weekend was slow. For the money that they want, they should manage that better.

This is a GREAT course. Fairways are wide, but somehow many players miss them. Rough/woods are punative, as they should be, but not too much so. Greens are fast and true. Conditions are as good as any public course in 2-state area. Fine layout, in spite of what one reviewer said, there is excellent diversity of holes. Also, a good mix of difficult and less difficult holes.

Great design, layout and can find some good twilight and weekday deals. Course is a bit slow on the weekends because it's a testy layout. Good closing holes that can either ruin or make your round.

This course would get a higher rating if it were a reasonable walk and management could manage the pace of play better. You pretty much HAVE to ride. We always tee off late; more than a half hour last week and it usually takes 5 hours to play. Excellent layout. A really good challenge from the tips. That 18th hole is about the toughest I've ever played. A little pricey but a great deal at twilight.

We played in March, but I could tell the course condition will be good when the weather turns. However, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. The staff was not friendly this day. We saw the beverage cart once and that was on the 2nd hole. When we made the turn and wanted to get some food we were told the grille was closed. Wasn't thrilled with all the houses lining the course, but I guess thats to be expected these days. I doubt we'll go back, especially for those prices.

I really liked this course. There is a variety of well placed hazards. The greens were a little inconsistant because we played early in the season. Most of the course is lined with dense woods (nice). If you spray the ball all over, be sure to bring plenty of balls.

I, too, would have to disagree with the first review. When I played it in early March 2005, I found it to be the extreme opposite of ghetto. The fairways are generally wide, most greens are plus-sized and many of the greens are tiered Clubhouse is first rate and they spoke of adding a snack bar/restroom out on the course. $40 for greens fee plus cart. It does go up and downhill quite alot, but I found each hole to be unique and interesting.

I beg to differ from the previous review. I love this course. Every hole presents a different challenge: length, water, traps, trees, and rough. The course starts very fair to those who don't always hit a bucket before the round. The greens are not quite as slick as sister course Raspberry, but they roll true. Take a little less break than what you read. No's 9 and 18 are a couple of the toughest finishing holes in the area. Get your scoring done before 8 and 9 and 16 thru 18.

One of the most poorly designed golf course in the metro area. Every hole is pretty much the same, either straight going up hill or down hill. I got board of the course after the 6th hole. The "Kids" that work there are "Getto." It is over priced. The only time I would ever play this course again is if I got to play it for Free.
