Played on May 19th, 2:30 tee time for a fee of $28 with a cart. Course conditions were OK, tee boxes needed some work, fairways and greens were in good condition, minor dead or patchy spots on some greens. Layout of the course in my mind was very good. Front nine from the blue tees was fun to play, no par 4 over 400 yards until you get to the back 9. Pace of play was great since no one was out there. Staff was pleasant and the club house is very nice. 45 min drive from Virginia Beach well worth it.

This could be a really superior golf course. There just doesn't seem to be an effort to bring it beyond were it is now and has been for the last 10 years. I really enjoy the layout but conditioning is always mediocre.

I was impressed with the Deer Run course. Nice course layout, greens were in good shape for a public course with minimal pitch marks. Only problem is lots of bare patches and dirt if you miss the fairway, but the fairways themselves were in good shape. You can't beat the twilight rate of $25 with cart, I would go back.

Wonderfully priced course for the quality and layout. Allow a long, long course if played from the black tees. The fairways are inviting and the ruffs are a perfect mix of "forgiving" and "non-forgiving". Didn't like the fact it is a 18 hole loop, no stop after nine for a dog/drink. Overall would still recommend it to anyone in the Newport News/Williamsburg area.
