Great parkland course with small fast greens. The back nine is better than the front. Just about all skills of golfers can enjoy the course. There are few forced carries but it is not a beginners course. Single digit golfers will enjoy the risk reward the course offers. As noted by a previous rater the pin placement can wreck havoc during a bad putting day. During amateur tournament play the placements create very subtle breaks. The staff is helpful. The maintenance is getting better but not great; good muni quality

I agree with Alan's comments from a few months ago. The electric carts are making this course similar to Clifton Park; lots of bare, hard pan spots developing. They've done away with the GPS system (which is how they justified the price increase a few years back) but they haven't replaced many of the yardage posts. Now there are painted discs in the middle of the fairways but you can't see those from the teebox. And some of the discs are missing. I really like this course, great layout but hate to see it deteriorate.

Been playing this course for 10 years and have loved it. That's why it is sad to see the conditions deteriorating over the last few years. Unbridled electric cart use (particularly when the course is wet) is ruining the rough close to the fairways. Since they have had GPS for a few years they haven't replaced the distance markers some of which have probably been damaged or stolen. Now no GPS and no way to gauge distances from some spots. All Baltimore City and County courses have been catering to electric cart users at the expense of those who play the game the way it was intended - walking - and it is ruining the experience. The course is a fair challenge and can produce some high scores for those unable to adjust to uneven lies. Some good risk, reward choices. Beautiful in the Fall.

I disagree with the previous post about the course conditions. For a public city course at $30, this course is in decent shape. Some of the greens are bumpy, and there are some dry spots on the course, but we haven't had any rain, except for Ernesto, in about 6 weeks. So what do you expect? The design is classic, the conditions are good for the money, and the course has a little bit for everyone.

Played Sunday AM. Course conditions are pretty bad, fairways burnt or dirt patches. Some greens have disease and very splotchy. In addition, the greens rolled very inconsistently, some fast, some slow. Pace of play was slow, but that's to be expected on the weekend. The ranger was pretty helpful in moving folks along. The overall design of the course is decent; lots of elevation change, with a few blind tee shots/ approaches. Pretty cheap for a course with GPS; if you can get it to work.

For an old public course, it's still a monster. We had a 40 person handicapped outing in March. It was a little windy, but nice day and only 3 members broke NET 80. Greens were slick. If you like fast greens then you will love these. Super must be a sadist, pin placements were cruel. We had many 10 to 18 HCP golfers who had 4 to 7 putts on a few greens. For the money, still a great course.

Lot of changes in elevation makes this course interesting. Be careful to not hit any passing cars on Hillen Rd on the first two holes as there is no netting fence up. Play is agonizingly slow on weekends and the rangers can be very annoying. My group was forced to skip a hole by the ranger, only to discover having to wait for the group ahead to tee off!

A good muni course. Don't be put off by location. This is in a safe area. Price is excellent. Course layout is classic - tree framed fairways and not tricked up greens. Greens were in reasobly good condition. On most holes, you will be able to frame your tee shots and your approach shots. NOT cart path only. Some excellent holes and the rest of the course is challenging and fun. Course is as good as Pine Ridge or Rocky Point but does not offer the peaceful waterview vistas of those two courses.
