About what you would expect this early in the golf season after the winter we've had in the DC area. Last weekend it was damp, wet and they still had one green closed due to snow that has not melted. But considering other courses still aren't open it was better than no golf at all. Friendly course and with the sogginess of the turf it played very long indeed. Worth a play if you live in the area but not worth traveling to play. I'll give it another try once the temps and conditions improve.

The Lakes course is the "easier" of the two courses at Twin Lakes. It offers wide fairways throughout thus a larger margin for error on the longer clubs. There are a few gimmicky holes which require local knowledge to score well. The greens are kept quite thick thus the contours are flattened and can be unbelievably slow. Nice to have dual starters for the both courses to handle the busy Summer weekends. Clubhouse and full length practice range are nice.

The course is nothing special your typical municipal in fairly good condition. This past weekend it was very damp and the bunkers were almost unplayable. On another note the it's very forgiving and wide open on the front nine and has more obstacles on the back side. Decent service and clubhouse.

Open friendly layout with plenty of room to recover if you're spraying the ball off the tee. The conditions are decent and the layout has enough character and difference. The bunkers were washed out making for some dicey bunker play and the greens roll at a medium pace but very bumpy. Hard to make anything unless you power the stroke through the hole. Decent price and always busy so make a tee time early.

What you see is what you get. A pretty property with an average to easy golf course. This is a classic parkland layout and a well-maintained muni. The comment below about the green speed is accurate. I had several three-putts just not getting the ball there. After plenty of wide-open holes, the closing hole will challenge. You have to carry a stream and avoid the fairway trap smack in the middle of the fairway to a green straight uphill.

The conditions were pretty good, but I never got used to the speed of the greens. Don't misunderstand - the greens were in nice shape, but OH SO SLOW! They've done a good job at keeping the course green, but it's only an average layout, with a minimal amount of challenge. Pace of play was not an issue, and it's a decent value for the money. Worth a play if you are in the area, but don't expect a major challenge and you'll be fine.

Great condition and value. All aspects of course were in great shape. Most fairways are wide open, water comes into play on several holes. Marshall made sure groups were making good time. Clubhouse staff and starters were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back to play this course again as well as try the Oaks Course.

In general, the course is in good shape. A few of the greens were a bit dried out, and they tend to suffer from players who don't fix ball marks. This is an entertaining course that I'd definitely play again.

A very well maintained, even at this peak summer time you see lots of natural green all around. As the name indicates water is the main hazard. If you are good, you can bomb from almost every TEE Box. Veru friendly staff.

Fun, open course. This is the kind of course that you can pull driver out on almost every hole and just grip it and rip it. The greens were true and smooth. The fairways and rough are starting to suffer from the lack of rain, but maintenance is doing a good job keeping up.

My only complaint is that they use a speaker system to announce when groups should be checking in & teeing off. This can be very bothersome when playing the holes near the clubhouse.

Fun municipal course.

Muni course my son and I play from time to time. The county does a good job in providing a playable course, decent condtions at a good price. If your tastes run resort or country club, then you might want to book a tee time elsewhere.

Played three consecutive weekends all with a starting tee time before noon and finished on average in under 4.5 hours- good pace.

The course is forgiving off the tee but sufficiently challenging around the greens. Several forced carries over water and as the name suggests, water is a common hazard. Great public/muni course.
