Woods is viewed by members as the most difficult of Kingsmill's three 18-hole courses, yet still plays fair to higher handicappers. Set away from the resort, the course has no houses within sight of any of the holes, and passes through numerous Audubon bird sanctuaries, where nesting bald eagles can often be seen. Conditions are second only to the River course, but the rough on Woods is more forgiving. Instead, Woods lies on tree-lined fairways on almost every hole to penalize wayward shots.

Great conditions in a natural setting make this a must play in the Williamsburg area. There's a reason they call it "The Woods" course, keeping the ball in the fairway is a must and the slick greens make putting tough. You may also want to bring your camera as the course is in a wildlife refuge. Play it if you can.
