Sligo Creek Golf Club
Just inside
the beltway and part of the Sligo Creek Park system lies the stately
form of the Sligo Creek Golf Club.
This 9 hole course is a nice
play for days when you want to walk or only have time for nine.
Developed in 1959 this older course has an abundance of grown rough.
The large mature
trees make Sligo Creek challenging but very upfront in its approach.
The course includes Par 4's under 300 yards with a couple of Par 3's.
One might think this would be ideal for low scores but the
challenging layout and density of the outlying rough makes this course
more difficult than it may first appear.
Amigos favorite Hole: The most unique hole we encountered at the Sligo Creek
was the Par 4 number 7. The hole starts an up hill tee shot to a
wide landing area across a small creek. Your second shot is
from a sharp dog leg left onto the green.
