The bad is poor drainage, crowded, boring design, airplane noise, mediocre conditioning. The good is affordable, location. The cool and main reason to play the course is you have to aim at the Washington Monument on two tee shots.

I want to commend the starter since he was very friendly in my first visit to the course. I happened to be late for my group but the starter called in for some assistance and I was given a ride to my group that was on the second hole. The course putting surface was in good shape and hole placement kept putting at a challenge.

I'm new to the DC area and there isn't much for the public golfer inside of the beltway. The East Potomac Blue course is a nice location with some good views but the design is unimaginative and boring at best. Variety of look between hole to hole is nonexistent. Conditions are decent but with the lack of any decent public tracks its always pretty busy. The grill at the clubhouse makes a good burger.

It would make a beautiful swamp, and after a hard rain, it pretty much is a swamp. The drainage on this course may be the worst I have ever seen.

I learned to play on this course, or should I sty began playing golf on this course. It gets very crowded, but playing 3 miles from my home with views of DC, monuments, and National Airport is pretty cool. The course is very flat, and gets pretty beat up during the summer, but still a fun round.

Basically one of only a couple inside the beltway you can play unless your the truely privlages or work on capital hill. Decent course, me and the boys like to go out once a week and conditions are usually nice and close to my home. Good range as well. You can find better outside of the beltway but for me, I like to "kick it" near the hood and represent.

Played the course on a perfect weather day - a Sunday weekend in April . . . in a nutshell, if you have tons of patience, it's an okay play. We made an online tee time for 2:30 and actually teed off at 2:50 - the starter is not particularly good in getting things going. Then it was slower than death on the course - by 5:50 p.m. (yes - THREE hours) we made the turn. At least it was a good day to wait outside.

Flat, straight and no real challange if you can hit the ball straight. Way to crowded on the weekends, expect a 6 hour round. But if you live in DC like me and enjoy golf it is close.

Flat, lengthy layout. Nice view of the DC skyline, monuments, airport. For a heavily played public course, the greens are in decent shape. Bunkers aren't bad. Tee boxes are pretty beat up. The fairways vary from decent to mediocre. Not too much to get you into trouble on this course (OB, water, etc.).

Links style very straight forward course with views of downtown DC. Due to the lack of courses close to DC, very slow play is usually the norm. It's owned and maintained by the National Park Service and price is reasonable. There are no real neat design qualities, just your standard municipal.
