Played Sep 18, 2011 on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded but I was behind 2 foursomes of seniors who were terribly, agonizingly slow. Otherwise, the course was in great shape, beautiful, fun & challenging to play. It's on top of the mountain so it was cold with many tree-lined fairways. I highly recommend playing this course.

I played this course last September and it was in very nice shape. The course isn't long, but on a few holes, it can get tight since every hole is tree-lined. The greens are fast and a few of those pin locations can be 'devilish'. Since it is the "highest course" in Virginia, it is usually cooler than the surrounding valleys. When I played there, it was in the upper 60s while it was in the lower 80s at Stoney Creek. Hole #16 is a downhill par-4 with a spectacular view!

Very nice course but be warned - it is very, very tight and wayward shots will be punished. Staff was very professional. Range was a little small for a large resort. A course for everyone to play once but the other course down in the Mountain, Stoney Creek, is a better play in my opinion.
