Birdwood has long been an attractive, enjoyable facility. It's in great shape and has been given a slight face lift through rebunkering in recent years. The front side is very walkable, but the back is not. Holes 14 and on are testers; island par 3, double dogleg uphill drive par 5's and two long par 4's. Great shape, friendly staff.

Well worth the drive to C'ville. Course is home to UVa's golf teams. Nice staff. The course was in great winter shape. Each hole presented a unique challenge with a nice variety of tee boxes. A good walking course, as you will see a good mix of walkers and riders. If you do walk, the back 9 is hillier than the front 9. A great day trip!

Mr. Ervin has designed a masterpiece. Beautiful and challenging layout. An island green, hole number 14, two double dogleg par 5's; holes 15 and 17, elevation changes, and a great set of par 3's. Many other scenic holes.
